6 Steps You Must Take After Getting Your Admit

You must be thrilled to have secured admission into your desired university but wait, there's more to this process. Reading the terms and conditions in the acceptance letter might have left you dazed, so we are here to clear the clouds of confusion. We have jotted down the points common to all the universities that will help you with your admittance procedure.

Here's your to-do list after getting the admit: 

1. Provide proof of funds

Ensure that your financial documents state the values in USD. 

The documents that you can submit can be any of the following:

a) Account Statement

b) Loan Sanction Letter 

c) Confidential Statement of Sponsored Studies; if any of your family members are ready to sponsor

Below are some cool tricks to get your account statement accepted:

a) Liquidate investments; please note that showing shares and bonds as proof of funds receive rejection 

b) Borrow funds temporarily and display it in your bank statement

2. Submit your transcripts

You will need to provide one final transcript showing your degree to the university. Some universities can also ask you to submit a hard copy of the transcript once you reach the campus. 

3. Deposit the non-refundable enrollment fee

The enrollment fee is to reserve your seat into the university. It is genereally deducted from your tutition fees so it's not like you just frittered away the amount.

4. Wait for the I-20 form

Your university will generate an I-20 or DS-2019 form for you depending on the type of program you have been admitted to. Please note that the I-20 immigration form is an extremely important document signifying your visa status. 

5. As soon as I-20 arrives, apply for F-1 visa!

Applying for an F-1 visa requires you to book two dates, one for verification of documents and the other for an interview with a consular officer. 6. Pack your bags and book your tickets
